Suzy's Hula School & Hawaiian Store
Home
The school serves the
Inland Empire area, intent on perpetuating the cultures of Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, and the Maori people of New Zealand through music, dance, crafts, etc. We have been together over 2 years, starting as a family group. We now have over 30 members, and strive to keep that same 'ohana (family) feeling.

The Kumu (teacher)

Suzy (Kukana) grew up on the island of O'ahu (cities of Waianae and Aiea)and has been studying Hula and the ukulele since the age of five. She is educated in social science and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in organizational leadership. Although Suzy's halau performs at city functions and private parties, her teachings are strictly educational, and therefore we've performed for many schools in the area. Suzy encourages her students to learn the language and the meaning behind the dance.

New members entering the halau must have respect for themselves, other members, and all cultures. All ages, male and female, are welcome!
