1. Keiki I Children ages 3-6, and beginners up to age 10, will learn basic hula steps and simple songs. $25.00/month. Mondays 6-6:30 pm.
2. Keiki II Children ages 7-10, or younger with Polynesian dance experience, will continue to learn basic steps and dances for the various Polynesian cultures. $25.00/month. Mondays 6:30-7pm.
3.Beginners (over age 10) Tuesdays 7:30pm-8:30pm Basic steps and simple dances. $30.00/month
4.Intermediate level wahine Students will review all steps, music in native languages, and be available to perform at shows. Must also attend Culture class. Admission to this class requires an audition with the instructor. $40.00/month Thursdays 6:30 pm-8:30pm
5. Advanced level wahine Students must be versatile in different types of Polynesian dance, or proficient in any one area. A knowledge of Hawaiian language and history is expected. Must attend culture class and participate in performances. Admission to this class requires an audition and interview with the instructor. $40.00/month. Wednesday 6:30-8:30pm.
6.Kane (the males) Men and boys over age 3 will learn masculine hulas, Tahitian dance, slap dance and fire knife dance from Samoa, and haka from New Zealand. $40.00/month (boys 10 and under are $25.00) Fridays 6:30 pm-7:30pm
7. Gracious Ladies (age 35 and over) For mature women who want to learn serious hula at a slower pace. $30.00/month Mondays 7-8pm.
8. Hula for Health Cardio workout to Polynesian music. **Recommended for beginners because basic steps are done repetitively. (Not for performance value) $20.00/month Tuesdays 6:30 pm-7:30pm
9. Music Guitars, ukuleles, upright bass, drums, and piano playing Hawaiian listening and performance music. (bring your own instruments, please) $20.00/month Fridays 7:30 pm-9:30pm
10. Culture Topics will include history, mythology, royalty, art, music, food, points of interest, crafts, lei-making, etc. (Everything except dance!) We have a potluck dinner first. 2nd Wed.of each month 6:00 pm-8:00pm. There may be a small materials fee, depending on the topic.
If you are taking more than one class, you pay the regular price for your primary class, then just $10 more for each additional class.
